Impressions of our apprenticeships

Our training highlights

Multifaceted insights into different areas

During your commercial and IT apprenticeship, you will gain insights into various departments and become acquainted with the behind-the-scene processes and structures. At the new training centre in the immediate vicinity of the Rittal plant in Haiger, for example, you will gain knowledge as a junior commercial/technical employee and become routined in working on machines with state-of-the-art IT equipment.

Companies within the company

In our junior companies, you will assume responsibility in management positions at an early stage. An equally important station in the daily work of our apprentices is the Junior Competence Center. Here, the junior employees of the entire Friedhelm Loh Group independently organise and manage projects working as a team.

Individual seminar programme for apprentices

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be able to attend accompanying seminars at our in-house advanced training facility, the Loh Academy. These not only ideally prepare you for your professional future, but also further your personal development.

Own laptop for working at school and the company

Punctually at the start of your apprenticeship, you will receive your own equipment which you can use for the entire duration of your training.

Career tip to get started!

You have an apprenticeship place at our company, a good secondary school leaving-certificate, and you would like to gain a technical diploma in addition to your apprenticeship? If so, take advantage of the considerable time benefits that the LehrePlus programme offers you! This is currently offered by the trade school in Dillenburg and the Werner-von-Siemens trade school in Wetzlar. With additional lessons (usually on Saturdays) and a final exam, you’ll have your technical diploma in your pocket and can directly start a dual study programme in the Friedhelm Loh Group. It doesn't get any better than that!

And there is so much more…

Stays abroad, company healthcare, voluntary participation on social projects (e.g. biotope care and campaigns for the food bank), participation at trade fairs and events…

What our colleagues have to say

Smilla Hayn and Rouven Fey

Apprentices, Rittal

“It’s a good feeling to work in a factory of the future.”

Nico Andreas Läufer

IT apprentice, Loh Services

“IT security isn’t all about theory. We wanted to make it tangible and accessible by creating an escape room, making IT security a playful experience. IT security is more that just technology. It helps not only to protect data, but to protect the whole company. To achieve complete protection, everyone needs to play their part.”

Pavlo Kozachenko

Industrial electronics apprentice, Rittal

“My family and I got a second chance here after we fled our homeland. We have the opportunity to learn, educate ourselves, and enjoy stability and safety. In Ukraine, I worked as a construction engineer. Here, I am probably the oldest apprentice Rittal has ever had. I’ve always been interested in electrical engineering and decided that, since we’ve been given a second life, I’d start over from scratch.”

Luisa Müller

Warehouse logistics apprentice, Rittal

“I am happy to be here. Driving the low-lift pallet truck is what I enjoy the most, but I also like the fact that we’re able to try our hand at things here. After all, every order is different – just like every customer is different. I simply love learning, and it’s important never to lose that passion."

Noah Schlemper

Technical product design apprentice, Rittal / Apprentice mentor in the SchulePlus programme“When I was a student at school, SchulePlus helped me decide what I wanted to do with my life. Now, as an apprentice mentor, I can help others change their worries about the future into plans for the future.”
