Machine operator, Rittal
“The ‘Factory of the Year’ award has had a real impact on our team at the Rittal plant in Haiger, Germany. It makes us really proud.”

Machine and system operator, Rittal
“I’ve had a tough start in Germany and at Rittal. I hardly spoke any German, and was bombarded with countless technical terms, but we received an unbelievable amount of support. Everyone allowed us plenty of time. We still talk about that today. Without their patience and kindness, we’d never be where we are now.”

Production Planning, Rittal
“For me, working in a family business means making decisions with the next generation in mind. You can feel this sense of responsibility, and it has motivated me for 30 years now.”

Production Planning, Stahlo
“I find it exciting that steel is part of so many products. My production planning work involves converting customer orders into work orders and planning both internal and external capacities. I want to learn more by working on different projects, help make production more efficient and take on more responsibility.”

Rollforming technician, Rittal
“I kind of grew up here. I started my training as a fitter over 25 years ago and have since worked my way through lots of production jobs. Now I am a skilled metalworker, and I’m still as happy to be working here as ever. I can also offer the benefit of my experience, as I did recently, for example, when it came to investing in a rollforming line that we use to manufacture up to 14,000 base/plinth trim panels a day.”

Slitting line, Stahlo
“After my apprenticeship as a bakery sales assistant, I realised it wasn’t what I was looking for. A friend recommended Stahlo to me. I was immediately very impressed by the machinery, but also apprehensive. Would I be able to cope? I’ve been with the company for two years now, and I know this kind of sturdiness and robustness is what I need. And my team is right behind me.”

Shift Leader Injection Molding Production, LKH
When Halim Bukva arrived in Germany in 1989, his professional life was initially "adventurous," as he describes it. It was not until 2010, when he joined LKH, that his tasks and responsibilities grew steadily, until he finally became Team Leader for Process Mechanics. “Obtaining further qualifications then gave me the opportunity to obtain written certification of all my experience,” he reports. That also gave Bukva the chance of a promotion. He is now Shift Leader Injection Moulding Production.

Machine and system operator, Rittal
“I’ve learned so much since joining Rittal. I do all my own repairs at home. Rittal has made me strong. I want to keep on learning, putting in the extra effort to learn about new machines from people. My colleagues have always been very supportive and always ask how my family is doing. That gives you a nice feeling. This is more than a workplace – it’s a community.”

Team Leader Production Planning, Stahlo
“Speed really matters in the steel industry. We don’t want to interrupt supply chains – we want to deliver just in time. Having everyone close to hand often makes all the difference – and so does everyone working together on the same level. That’s what makes us stand out at Stahlo.”

Team Leader Process Mechanics, LKH
Having joined the LKH quality control team in 2019, Kristina Shits is now a team leader. How does this work? “I came to a point where I wanted more and asked my bosses whether I could attend the Loh Academy to qualify as a machine and system operator. I received a great deal of support and encouragement,” she says. But that’s not all. “I’m considering further training to qualify as an engineer in the near future. The basic training I’ve done now makes that possible, and I could even do a master’s degree,” she adds.

Head of Contour & Sheet Metal Production, Stahlo
“We have a great team of talented young individuals and experienced experts who treat each other as equals. Our mantra at the laser system is: ‘For us, there’s no such thing as can’t.’ We produce whatever our customers need, even in small quantities.”

Head of Rittal Production, Ewersbach
Many things are possible when you work for Rittal: Nina Schelberg’s career path took her from pieceworker to Head of Production at the Ewersbach plant. She finds daily inspiration in the excellent support she receives from her team. Part of the Rittal family for more than 20 years, she has proven a reliable support to the company and its 135 employees from day one. In Nina’s eyes, that’s what a family does.
